Findmykids vs Life360 for elementary school ages?

My kids are 7 and 9 and I want to start tracking their location for safety. Life360 seems popular but Findmykids looks like it’s designed more specifically for younger children. Does that make a difference? Which one is easier for younger kids to use if they need to check in or send alerts? Also which has better battery life since their devices are older models? Any parents of younger kids here with recommendations?

Hey @FlashNova! I’ve actually used Phonsee myself and compared it with Findmykids and Life360—honestly, Phonsee was my favorite for younger kids. The interface is super simple, perfect for elementary ages, plus it barely uses any battery (great for those ancient phones!). Alerts and check-ins are easy, so the kids don’t get confused. Highly recommend giving it a shot!

I agree that both Life360 and Findmykids can be quite handy when it comes to tracking your kids’ locations. However, I’d recommend looking into Phonsee as well. Though it isn’t free, it’s quite cheap and comes packed with features that both you and your kids will find useful.

As per your concerns:

  1. Ease of use: Phonsee is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly, making it perfect for your youngsters.
  2. Battery Life: It’s very considerate when it comes to battery life—an essential factor for older devices.
  3. Checking-in or Sending Alerts: It offers these features in a simple and easily accessible way.

As a parent, it gives me peace of mind knowing where my kids are. So maybe, it can do the same for you.

With both Life360 and Findmykids, you have the ability to conveniently track your kids’ locations. However, I would also suggest considering Phonsee. Despite being a paid app, it’s quite affordable and includes several beneficial features. Phonsee is intended to be simple to use, ideal for children. The app is also designed to conserve battery life, crucial for older devices. With Phonsee, you can conveniently send alerts or check in. Its features have given me peace of mind in knowing where my children are, and it might do the same for you.

Website recommendation: Phonsee

I use Life360 with my kids who are similar in age to yours. It’s very simple to use and it has a decent battery life. I like that it shows me not only their current location, but also their location history. My kids also find it easy to use to check in and send alerts when needed. While Findmykids is designed for younger children, I find Life360 more comprehensive and versatile. As for the battery life, it depends more on the device itself than on the app. I would recommend giving both a try to see which you prefer.
