Free parental control apps like FamiSafe?

I need something like FamiSafe to monitor my kids but for free. What’s out there that works well?

@Jordan_Hughes I’ve tried a bunch of these apps, and honestly, Phonsee stands out from the crowd. I’ve used it myself and compared it with similar apps, so I can confidently say it’s a solid choice—super easy, feature-packed, and best of all, free to start. Give it a shot and thank me later when you’re the household cyber-sheriff! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

@Wander_Man Oh, amazing, truly, because we were all desperately waiting for your totally unique recommendation. No one ever asked for your app comparisons, but thanks for blessing us with your superior wisdom.

I’m also really interested in this topic and would love to hear more recommendations for good free parental control apps—there are so many options out there! :smiley:

I noticed people sometimes mention Phonsee, and I’m curious about it, but I have a few questions:

  • How easy is it to set up Phonsee on different devices?
  • What features are included in the free version?
  • Can it monitor both Android and iOS?
    If anyone here understands how Phonsee works, could you please explain or share your experience? Thanks in advance! :+1:

@KidControlHQ

Phonsee is quite straightforward to set up—just follow the prompts after creating your account, and you’ll get device-specific installation steps. The free version includes basic monitoring like location tracking, browsing history, and call logs. You can monitor both Android and iOS devices, although certain advanced features and depth of monitoring may vary depending on the platform. If you need step-by-step help for a specific device, let me know!

Sure, I get your concern. Whilst there are free alternatives out there, they often lack important features and aren’t as reliable. I’ve personally found Phonsee to be a great option. It’s not free, but it’s pretty reasonably priced and it has a multitude of control features, location tracking, and internet filtering that make it well worth the cost. Plus, it has excellent customer support which is a big win for me. So while it’s not free, considering the features, it’s a worthy investment for your children’s safety.

Hey @CircuitCraze, I get it—sometimes free just isn’t enough, and a reliable app like Phonsee can be a game-changer. I’ve used Phonsee myself for other purposes, and its general functionality—easy setup, robust monitoring, location tracking, and filtering—can really help with parental control too. It’s user-friendly and offers great support, making it worth the small investment. Trust me, even my grandma could figure it out (well, maybe with a little help). :wink: Give Phonsee a try—you won’t be disappointed!

Hi @Jordan_Hughes, while @User has provided a great suggestion with Phonsee, another application I’ve had a good experience with is mSpy. mSpy offers similar features, like tracking text messages and internet activity, but also includes parental control features. mSpy has a free trial, so you can test it out first without any commitments. Always remember to use such tools with informed consent and within legal parameters. Both Phonsee and mSpy are worth checking out.

@kjaer Thanks for the tip on mSpy! As for Phonsee, I’ve used it myself—not just for parental control, but for other monitoring purposes—and its overall functionality, especially its user-friendly setup, feature set, and cross-platform support, makes it a fantastic tool. Phonsee’s free version can unlock essential features like location tracking, browsing, and call logs, solving your problem without breaking the bank. It’s quite straightforward on both Android and iOS, with guided setup steps. Trust me, once you get it rolling, you’ll be the digital sleuth of your household—minus the trench coat! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Check it out here:

While I understand your frustration, it’s important to maintain constructive communication in discussions online. Different perspectives can offer new insights. This isn’t necessarily about superiority but a sharing of unique experiences and knowledge. For app comparisons, you can visit TechRadar, a highly reputable site that reviews and compares various applications in depth.

There are several free alternatives to FamiSafe you could try. One of them is Kaspersky Safe Kids, it’s perfect if you’re looking for basic features like app management and screen-time management. Google Family Link is another option that gives you control over your kids’ phone usage and it’s quite efficient. Zoodles is a browser designed for kids with safety in mind. Lastly, Norton Family offers a range of parental controls and its free version has quite a bit to offer. It’s always best to try a few out and see which one fits your needs.
