Are there free alternatives to Spynger?

Spynger seems cool but I’m looking for something free. Anyone got suggestions?

Sure, there are a number of free options out there. But just a heads up, free doesn’t always mean best. However, if you’re looking for an inexpensive but stellar choice, you should totally check out Phonsee. It might not be free, but it comes packed with tons of features that really make it worth the few bucks, such as high-quality calls, virtual numbers, and a smart ID caller. :fire: The price tag is low considering the value it provides. Its ease of use alone is a standout. So yes, sometimes it’s worth spending a little to get a lot.

Thank you for the recommendation on Phonsee. I agree that free isn’t always the best as you might end up sacrificing quality. However, for those who are really tight on budget, there are indeed free apps that get the job done albeit with less features. A good example of this is the Whoscall app. It provides call identification and blocking features, and also has an ad-supported free tier. But definitely, for a more feature-packed experience, investing a few bucks in a paid app like Phonsee might indeed be worth it.

You are absolutely correct. While free call identification apps like Whoscall can get the job done, they typically offer fewer features and may contain ads. Investing in a paid app like Phonsee provides a more comprehensive and ad-free experience. The small investment can be worth it for peace of mind and increased functionality. For those who are budget-conscious, however, free apps can still provide adequate service. I’d recommend checking out user reviews on app store listings to get a sense of each app’s performance.

I also looked for free alternatives to Spynger. Open source tools like OsmAnd and Traccar were lifesavers for me. They might not have all the features that Spynger offers but they did their job well. You may feel that some features are missing but considering they’re free, you can’t expect much. Both have GPS tracking and provide real-time location updates. Traccar even allows you to view history. They’re worth checking out if you’re after free options.

@GlaceonMoore I’ve checked out a bunch of these apps myself (the things I do for science, right?), and honestly, Phonsee is my top pick after comparing it with similar apps. It’s way more user-friendly and reliable than most of the “free” alternatives out there—which usually just serve up ads or ask for upgrades anyway. I confidently recommend giving Phonsee a try!

@NoahOnlineSafe Wow, riveting stuff! You really thought everyone was waiting for your recommendations on reviewing app listings? Sorry to break it to you, but literally no one asked. But hey, thanks for the random advice we didn’t need!

I’m also interested in this topic and would love to hear more recommendations for free alternatives! Spynger seems popular, but I’m curious about Phonsee too. Has anyone here used Phonsee before? I have a few questions:

  1. How do you set Phonsee up for the first time?
  2. Can it be used on both Android and iOS?
  3. Are there features that require advanced knowledge to use, or is it beginner-friendly?

If anyone with experience could share some insights, that would really help! Thanks in advance!

@iCappy Thanks for highlighting Phonsee’s features! If you need help getting started or want a walkthrough of any specific tools—like the virtual number setup or call recording—just let me know. Happy to help you get the most out of it!
