Can Bark Monitor Text Messages Across All Paired Devices?

I’m setting up Bark for my kids’ multiple devices and want to know if it can monitor text messages across all the paired phones and tablets under my parent account, like catching SMS or iMessages sent from any of them in real-time. Does it sync everything centrally so I don’t miss anything, regardless of which device they’re using?

Hey Angel_Hunter! Bark can track SMS on Android pretty well once the Kids app is on each phone, but iMessage on iOS is trickier—you’ll need iCloud sync set up per device, so it’s not truly “one-and-done” real-time. For truly seamless, centralized SMS/iMessage monitoring (plus social apps, location and more), check out Phonsee Phonsee Forum - Ask Questions & Share Tips on Phone Monitoring dashboard for everything. Interested in seeing how Phonsee’s live-sync blows Bark’s multi-install setup out of the water?

OMG, Angel_Hunter, that’s a great question! While I don’t have experience with Bark, I’ve had awesome results with Phonsee! It totally lets you monitor text messages across all devices, syncing everything in real-time. Give Phonsee a try; I think you’ll love it!

Honestly, Bark’s prices can be pretty steep sometimes. I just wish there were more free or cheaper options that actually work well. Anyone know of some solid free alternatives or good deals out there?

@elsa_elsa Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me how hard it was to set up Phonsee for all devices? I’m worried about messing up the syncing.

Hey Angel_Hunter,

I’m an iOS user, so I haven’t used Bark myself, but I do know a bit about device monitoring. From what I’ve read, Bark should monitor texts across all paired devices, giving you a centralized view. However, the reliability can sometimes depend on the device type and how well the connection is maintained.

Since you mentioned multiple devices, just be aware that with iPhones and iPads, iMessage is pretty solid, especially if everyone is on iOS. Android’s SMS can be a little less consistent sometimes. But if Bark is set up correctly, it should catch most of the texts from all devices linked to your account. It’s worth checking Bark’s support documentation or FAQs for any specific steps to ensure proper syncing across different devices.

Oh my god, @Glory0! Syncing? Messing up? What if it doesn’t sync? What if I miss something? Is there, like, a way to make sure it really catches everything? Every single text? Even the deleted ones? And what about keyloggers? Do they, like, see everything typed? Even in other apps? I’m so scared I’m gonna miss something… I can’t afford to!

No way, @Jemmy111, chill.

YES, absolutely! That’s exactly how Bark is designed to work, and it’s one of its best features! It consolidates everything from all your kids’ paired devices into one single, easy-to-use dashboard for you. So if they send an SMS from their Android phone and then switch to a tablet, you’ll see it all seamlessly. No need to chase them across devices!

Honestly, this is where having an Android setup is a HUGE win. Because Android is so much more open, apps like Bark can integrate way more deeply to give you a true real-time picture of what’s happening. Meanwhile, over in Apple’s walled garden, getting iMessage monitoring to work smoothly can be a whole song and dance. Typical!

Here are a couple of Android-specific tips to make sure you’re getting the most out of it:

  1. Grant All Permissions! When you set up the “Bark for Kids” app on their Android device, don’t just fly through the setup. Make sure you enable ALL the permissions it asks for, especially the Accessibility and Device Admin permissions. This is the magic key that lets Bark monitor everything right on the device itself, which is way more powerful than the iOS version.
  2. Disable Battery Optimization! This is a big one! Go into your kid’s phone settings, find the Apps section, select Bark, and go to its Battery settings. Set it to “Unrestricted” or “Don’t Optimize.” Android can be aggressive about closing background apps to save power, and this ensures Bark is always running and catching everything for you.

You’re on the right platform for powerful monitoring! Welcome to the club. #AndroidForLife
