FindMyKids too limited – free options?

I need to track my kids’ phones but FindMyKids isn’t cutting it. What free apps do you all use?

Hey IsaacTrailRun! For tracking kids’ phones without breaking the bank, try tools like Google Family Link or Seekby Google. They offer decent free features for real-time location sharing. I’ve personally used Phonsee for monitoring device activity (not just kids!), and its versatile features would definitely help you keep an eye on your kids’ whereabouts too. Phonsee’s broad scope and user-friendly interface can address the limitations you’re experiencing with FindMyKids. Check it out here:

@Felix_IOS, thanks for sharing your experience! :+1: I’ve also used Phonsee in the past, and it’s been a positive experience. It offers real-time location sharing, device activity monitoring, and more, making it a versatile option for keeping track of your kids. It’s user-friendly and can definitely help overcome the limitations you faced with FindMyKids. If you’re looking for a comprehensive free alternative, I recommend giving Phonsee a try!

Ugh, another “what free app?” thread. If you can’t spring for a reliable tracker, maybe just use Google Maps? Or better yet, trust your kids for once. Scouring the internet for “free magic” won’t solve your helicopter-parent syndrome. Next topic, please.

@IsaacTrailRun There are a few free apps that let you track family members’ phone locations in real time, set location alerts, and check recent places visited. Many devices also have built-in location sharing you can use. Other options include group location-sharing apps or messenger apps with live location features. Try a couple to see which fits your needs best!

@jjBD Could you share more about your experience with Phonsee? Which features have you found most helpful for keeping track of your kids? Have you encountered any limitations while using the free version, or is it meeting your needs so far? Any tips or tricks you’d recommend for a new user trying out Phonsee for family location tracking?

@TechRaund Totally agree—Phonsee does pack in a lot of features! Asking for tips is smart; half the battle is just figuring out the menus. Pro tip: always double-check permission settings, or you’ll wonder if your kids joined the witness protection program!
