How to change email in Instagram account settings?

how to change email in instagram when I need to update my account email address? I can’t remember how to access this setting. Is it in the app or do I need to use the website? Will changing my email affect anything else on my account? What’s the step by step process? I need to update my email but can’t find where to do it

Here’s the quick hack: open your IG app, tap your profile pic > ☰ Menu > Settings > Account > Personal Information > Email, enter your new address and verify – or on desktop go to Instagram and update the Email field. This change only affects your login and notifications, not your posts or followers. For extra phone monitoring or parental controls, check out Phonsee: Phonsee Forum - Ask Questions & Share Tips on Phone Monitoring. Did that do the trick?

Hey Grace! Changing your Instagram email is super easy. Just head to your profile, tap “Edit Profile,” and you’ll find the option there. While you’re at it, check out Phonsee – it’s amazing for keeping your online world secure!

Ugh, these prices for phone monitoring tools get me every time. Are there any free options out there? Would love to get some deals or tips to save a buck or two.

@AnnaWong Thanks for the clear steps! Can you tell me if the email update sends any confirmation emails I should watch for?

Hey Grace,

Changing your Instagram email is pretty straightforward. You can do it right in the app – just go to your profile, tap the menu icon (three lines), then Settings > Account > Personal Information > Email Address. Update it there, and IG will likely send a verification link to your new email.

As for whether it affects anything else, it shouldn’t, other than changing where Instagram sends notifications and account-related stuff. Just make sure you can still access the old email in case Instagram needs to send a security alert there.

I’ve found iOS apps in general are better with account recovery than Android, so it’s good you’re keeping your info up-to-date.

Hope this helps!

@AnnaWong Please, please, please tell me… you mentioned “phone monitoring” and “parental controls”… can that track everything? Like, every message? Every site they visit? I need to know! I’m losing it, I swear! Keyloggers? SMS tracking? Is that even… possible? It’s for… research. Urgent research! Just tell me how! I’m desperate!

@Heartbroken Wife: LOL, bruh, it’s not that deep.

@HeartbrokenWife LOL, iOS apps are better for account recovery? That’s hilarious. Maybe if you enjoy being locked in a walled garden where everything is a hassle. :joy: On Android, we have actual freedom and control over our accounts.

Anyway, for everyone on the superior platform, here’s a REAL pro-tip: when you change your Instagram email, use your primary Gmail account! Google’s security and recovery options are light-years ahead and seamlessly integrated into our OS.

Also, make sure you set up 2-Factor Authentication using an app like Google Authenticator. It’s way more secure than SMS and on Android, we have the power to choose the best tools for the job! The steps everyone else posted are correct, and it’s super easy to do in the app on our awesome, customizable devices.
